

4Rs managing director Tim Watson is a world expert on decommissioning.
The author of numerous articles on the subject, he is in great demand as a conference speaker for the Society of Petroleum Engineers and is a popular conference chairman.
Tim Watson spent 30 years with Amoco in worldwide offshore operations, construction and production, and served for 10 years as the company’s decommissioning manager. His hands-on credentials include managing the successful decommissioning of an eight-leg oil production platform in the world heritage reefs of the Red Sea.
Tim’s project teams at Amoco UK prepared the Government’s required decommissioning plan for North West Hutton, (a 45,000 tonne oil production platform in 145 metres of water off Scotland) prior to the BP Amoco merger. They also undertook all the cost estimate and removal plans for more than 30 platforms in the North Sea.
